Why Impela exists

Impela exists to help people live lives they’re proud of — lives that leave the people around them better. We believe the best use of AI is to help humans be better: better partners, better parents, better leaders, with stronger and happier relationships. And we emphasize leaders, because nothing improves more lives at once than a leader who gets better.

A note from the founder

I built Impela because I want more people to look back at their lives and be proud of what they see — proud not only of what they achieved, but of the effect they had on the people around them.

Most of us already want that. What gets in the way is rarely desire — it’s drift. Weeks fill up, attention scatters, and the things we mean to do for the people who matter most keep sliding to “later.” Good coaching closes that gap. But good coaching has always been scarce and expensive, reserved for a fortunate few.

AI changes that — if we use it well. I believe the best use of AI is not to replace people, and not to keep us company so we need each other less. It’s to help humans be better: better partners, better parents, better leaders. Impela’s coach is honest about being AI, and it points you back toward the people in your life, not away from them. It succeeds only when your human relationships get stronger — your marriage, your family, your team.

I put special emphasis on leaders for one reason: leverage. When one person grows, one life gets better. When a leader grows, everyone they lead feels it — in how decisions get made, how feedback lands, and how much energy people have left for their own families at the end of the day. Few people shape more lives than a leader does. Helping leaders lead well may be the fastest way to help many people live lives they can be proud of. But Impela isn’t only for leaders — the same coaching works on a marriage, a family, a goal you keep putting off.

That’s the purpose: AI for good, aimed at what matters most — the life you build, the people you love, and the people you lead.
